The other day I availed the services of the e sanjeevani op scheme introduced by the government in view of the covid pandemic . While I appreciate the initiative taken by the government to save the common man from visiting a.doctor or hospital for treatment in the days of pandemic and lockdown conditions, I would like to flag some issues observed/experienced by me for the attention of those who are involved in the maintenance of the system.
After the registration, i was allotted a token number and was asked to login using the same. When I did this, a queue number was shown in the screen which was remaining stand still without any advancement to show the position real time. On pressing the 'current status's button the new queue number waa displayed . I feel this can /should be made real-time saving the user of teh need to keep on pressing the current status button. Before my turn came, the queue number was reset two or three times and a fresh larger number was displayed for no reason. Also I was asked to re login twice. Finally I was able to connect with the doctor and get the medicines prescribed after a wait of more than 45 minutes.
Unfortunately, when I went to medical store to get the medicine, one medicine was not available in any medical store locally. It is ususally observed that the medicines prescribed by a doctor is normally readily available at the medical stores in the near vicinity only, and in the instant case of e sanjeevani, the doctor who attends to you need not be a nearby doctor, leading to this problem!
(On asking whether it could be arranged i was told that no medicine in that name was seen!)
Now I am at a loss as to what to do as there is no provision to contact the doctor and get an alternate medicine prescribed ! Alternately, i may have to register again and go through the whole process and get a new medicine prescribed by another doctor , as there is no guarantee that I may be lucky to get the same doctor. This situation can be rectified if the doctor mentions the generic name of the medicine also while writing the prescription.
