Lokayuktha has given a breather to the ministry by dismissing the application filed before it questioning the payment made from the captioned fund to the relatives of two deceased politicians. While the lokayukta has observed that the payment was made without following procedures, it was decided that there were no evidence showing corruption.
As far as i understand, the petitioner had not alleged corruption in the decision, but had questioned the payment made from the distress relief fund only and the lokayuktha has conveniently closed their eyes to this aspect. Hence the verdict calls for a rightful approach to the next appropriate forum for a favourable decision, and the petitioner has already made his intention to approach the high court clear. I hope the high court will hear the appeal without any delay whenever it is filed and deliver an impartial judgement.
